The market beef weigh-in for the 2017 El Paso County Fair will be Saturday, Feb. 4 from 8am-12pm. If the event is cancelled due to inclement weather, it will be rescheduled for Feb. 11 at the same location and at the same times.
Market beef members will need to bring brand inspection paperwork with them to weigh-in, where retinal scans will be performed. Each member’s animal has to be halter broke. We will not weigh an animal that is not under control.
This weigh-in is the ONLY time members can nominate their animal for state fair; state fair nomination forms MUST be filled out at this weigh-in and turned in on this day when they weigh.
Members are not required to be present for the weigh-in, but they must sign their nomination card at the Extension office if they are not present at the weigh-in.
There will be a $3 charge for the nomination and retinal scanning to cover equipment costs.

There will be a clinic after weigh in at 1pm to go over showmanship and fitting. This will take place of the Blow-and-Go Show which usually occurs at that time. Please contact Beef Superintendent Herman Stuke at 719-760-2175 if you plan to attend the clinic.
