Shooting Sports Hunter Safety Requirements

All shooting sports participants are required to obtain a Hunter Safety Certificate in order to compete in shooting sports contests. We are trying to host a hunter safety course specifically for our 4-H shooters in the not-to-distant future, so stay-tuned! Colorado Parks and Wildlife also offers these courses at locations throughout the state. If you have a Junior age 4-H member (8 to 10), please check with the class instructor to ensure they are accepting youth participants.

Once you have obtained your Hunter Safety Certificate, you can upload it directly to your 4-Honline profile under the “Additional Information” section. If you do not have a scanner, you can use a cellphone to take a picture of the card for an upload. If you need technical assistance with the process, contact Dan Smith at 719-520-7698 or
