Dining with Diabetes
Nutrition is the cornerstone of diabetes management, and Dining with Diabetes helps participants manage their own or that of a family member’s diabetes through nutrition education.This program is a four week series (2-hour) classes that are held once a week. Classes consist of a presentation on diabetes self-care or healthful food choices; a five to ten minute low-impact physical activity; presentations on tasty, healthy familiar foods, sampling foods, and demonstrations of cooking techniques using artificial sweeteners, reduced-fat foods. herb and spices.
Who is this for?
• Anyone with Type 2 diabetes, pre-diabetes, or a risk of developing diabetes
• Caregivers to those with diabetes
Eating Smart Cooking Smart
Eating Smart Cooking Smart is a fun and hands-on nutrition education program that focuses on health eating, keeping your food safe and cooking healthy meals. The series of lessons are taught once a week for four weeks focusing on a different topic. If you would like to eat healthier and learn how to prepare some health recipes these classes are for you.
What participants will receive:

• Sampling of recipes at each class
Mediterranean Diet
The Mediterranean Diet, sometimes referred to as the ‘Greek Mediterranean Diet’ or ‘Mediterranean Diet Plan’ is actually more of a dietary pattern that is characteristic of people living in regions around the Mediterranean Sea. Although it is called a diet, the Mediterranean diet is not about cutting calories and restricting foods like the popular diet trends in America today. Instead, it is a way of life and is about enjoying a wide variety of whole, nourishing foods with friends and family while practicing an active lifestyle.

Eat Smart, Live Strong includes fun, social and interactive sessions designed to improve fruit and vegetable consumption and physical activity among adult’s age 55 and older. Throughout the sessions participants will gain the skills needed to promote healthy behavior changes to improve their overall health and well-being.
